I can't believe I have waited so long to try this place. I went for Teppanyaki on Friday night and it was such a great experience.Firstly the restaurant is beautifully set out and being able to watch the food being cooked in front of you is such a cool experience.We had a watermelon spritz (Japanese cocktail) and a Japanese stout. I love the range and focus on offering Japanese drinks.I couldn't fault the steak and seafood. The meats were cooked to perfection. The portion size was great too we were so full by the end of our meal.The chefs and waiter were lovely and attentive. I think this is a great place for special occassions but would gladly come back just for some amazing Japanese food.

Dined at the teppanyaki section and the ambience was soo beautiful. Very intimate lighting, beautiful decor and most importantly delicious food cooked right in front of us. The staff were soo attentive and cheerful. Will definitely come back to try the sushi and a la carte menus next. Great work guys !

We went to Tsunami Izakaya & Teppanyaki Bar for my birthday and it was great. Hubby surprised me. I thought it was a regular restaurant, and then we walked into The Room where the magic happens. The back room is well decorated with many sake bottles along the wall with the lighting coming from behind. Wow effect guaranteed. Our chef was very sweet and entertained us so much with his cooking skills. I wished I'd taken more pictures of the food but I was so excited that I devored my food straight away. We both took the Wagyu beef and sea food mix. The Wagyu was a real delight, melting in the mouth and the sea food was fresh and juicy. The staff are so friendly and welcoming that I'd definitely recommend trying this place out for a special occasion.

Went to Tsunami on a Saturday - struggled to find a parking spot (off the road - managed to get one in the end). The restaurant wasn't overly busy at the front, we were promptly greeted and seated (we did have a booking). The restaurant has a very welcoming feel to it, wooden table and floorboards and a lemon tree outside near our window completed the scenery. We ordered some tempura sushi with wagyu beef and tartare as well as some Japanese flavoured squarely cut fish ( delicate flavor for this one) - opted for Wagyu and Scallops as a main on volcanic rock and some refreshing seaweed salad. I had to try a dark japanese ale and my partner chose from the extensive sake list - impressive list that is. Loved the quirky FAQ" section in the menu (answering all of the most popular questions) and the "round of beers for the kitchen" - first time I noticed in any menu. Some nice music in the background was the cherry on the cake - definitely recommend Tsunami for all of the above and the very reasonably priced menu for a delightful dinner."

The quality of the food is absolutely amazing. Staff are all lovely and friendly, we always have such a memorable night. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food and fast service, staff are very friendly and mostly attentive. We ordered an entree, mains, and dessert, with cocktails and beer as our drinks.Food came out nice and hot, beef was extremely tender and juicy. The tempura could have been hotter as it came out lukewarm.The restaurant itself was very loud but still enjoyable, it did quieten down a lot towards the end.Next time we will definitely try the sashimi and sushi dishes and see how they compare with sushi places that I love

Phenomenally good teppanyaki. Make sure you book online and check out the menu ahead of time so you can get your order in nice and quick to enjoy the experience. Brings friends and family!
